I first came In contact with the ministry as a child. At that time it was called believers' love world fellowship and the venue was YWCA at airport road in Benin city.
I remember that day, I went with my eldest sister. When I got into the hall I saw beauty! The people were so beautiful and all I wanted was to be part of them but, this was a dream that only came to pass after 8 years because of persecution.
My dad refused to let us become members. He would say to my sister that she must not take me with her, that we were born in Anglican church and we must remain there.
There were several nights we were locked outside, beaten and threatened for going to church. We would trek to church in order to give an offering.
Until finally I said to myself that I will go back there when I am of age. In 1996 I gave my life to Jesus at Evbareke crusade, was led to Christ by Rev Tom Amenkhiena and got filled with the Holy ghost the same night.
Went to foundation school, got baptized and joined CE Benin choir the same year. My father gradually started falling in love with our ministry and Our man of God pastor Chris.
When ever it was time for Our program on TV, he would sit there in front of the tv, watch and listen to pastor. I used to have imaginary picture of rapture and each time, I would see my father left behind and crying, begging us to take him with us.
Each time I had this thought, I would pray for him to be saved. Finally, my father started reading rhapsody of realities in Our morning devotion at home and then he was led to Christ and got filled with the Holy ghost by my mother.
Before he passed on, he was a partner with the healing school and on the day he passed on, with the last breath left in him, he prayed and said the grace and gave up the ghost. He actually closed the chapter of his life on earth to continue his live with Jesus in heaven.
I am glad my father was born again. Thank God I came into the ministry when I did.
Today, I am the coordinator of CE Krugersdorp west. Thank you Jesus! Blessing Bakare CE Krugersdorp west Sandton group Zone 1 South Africa .
