Youngest of three children, I grew up in a Christian family. My dad is a Pastor.
Despite the Christian energy and discipline, there was still a void in me that was yet to be filled. I often rededicated my life several times, and almost every prayer started with "asking" for forgiveness.
August 2011, I traveled to the US after securing admission to Morgan State University. I got to meet members of the BLW campus ministry on my campus then, but I was attending another Church and when I get to attend a cell meeting, I came with the mindset that I was just visiting.
I remember when I met with Pastor Bunmi, My mother, pastor and teacher, the Pastor of Christ Embassy Baltimore, it was at a special event BLW Morgan had organized. It was tagged, “In Him.
” Her passion for Christ as she shared the word of God was palpable. Knowing many of the leaders, I got to hang out and talk with her after the vent, and I remember, her asking me, "When are you coming to Church?" I chuckled, thinking to myself, "I already have a Church.
" Little did I know about the future. July 2012 (about a year since I started at Morgan), I was invited by a young beautiful sister, Sister Damilola from the Campus ministry to the Higher Life Conference USA 2012.
I am forever grateful she didn't withhold her hand. We had taken the school shuttle together, and while on the bus, she had started sharing her testimony about her attending a meeting (HLC USA 2010 I believe) with the Man of God.
I had just returned from my Math Research at another college, it sounded like another vacation and I could bear the cost of my ticket and welfare at the conference so I agreed to attend. She called backed later that evening, and we made arrangements and got my ticket.
I attended HLC 2012 in Texas not knowing about the importance of expectations talk less of having one. But though I had a faint idea of what Pastor shared during the conference until later the message was released and I got it, there was an impartation of my spirit.
I came back from that conference with a desire to join the BLW nation. I started the next semester strengthening my participation in the campus ministry (BLW Morgan), but it was difficult attending Church because I was still attending another church and I always knew to be present in Church.
Anyways, before time, it became necessary to leave my current church and through wisdom shared by bro Deji, the coordinator for BLW Morgan State Univ then, I informed my current Pastor (Pastor Emmanuel) that I had found what I had been looking for and I am joining another ministry. I am grateful to God for the wisdom to do this, and the relative gracefulness with which it was accomplished.
Pastor Emmanuel prayed for me and since then I have been home! Since I joined Christ Embassy in September 2012, I have not looked back. I have burnt my bridges: I am connected to the vision of the man of God.
My life has been given a meaning, and I continue to give many more lives meaning! Thank you Lord Jesus for predestination. Thank you for showing me the greater light.
